My name is Toma, I am currently a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Graz, Austria. I specialize in Phenomenology and Ontology, particularly Heidegger’s work and the thinkers who built on or were shaped by his ideas. I’m also deeply interested and qualified in Systems Philosophy, Phenomenological Psychopathology, the Phenomenology of Mathematics, Embodied Cognition, Enactivism, the History of Existentialism, and the Philosophy of Biology. My historical research centers on the political history of the Holy Roman Empire, as well as Late Antiquity and Medieval Dalmatia You can see my published research and full CV at:
I am also a self-taught oil painter. I discovered the meditative power of painting during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and what began as a way to unwind and grow creatively has since blossomed into a passionate exploration of light, shape, and texture. My work focuses mainly on portraits and landscapes, where I tend to approach each painting with a differernt technique. Since I am an avid animal lover and enjoy hiking, the things I see are commonly an inspiration for my art. I largly enjoy the paintings by Emanuel Vidović, Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin, Caspar David Friedrich, and Albin Egger-Lienz. Blue is my favorite color to work with. I also build, paint and create from clay miniature figurines and small sculptures :) You can see my gallery here:
In my free time I also enjoy playing different Card, Board and Roleplaying games, my favorite games being Magic: The Gathering, The Elder Scrolls and Dwarf Fortress. You can see my decks here, maybe we can play some time :)
